Historical Models for Wholistic Mission among the Dalit and Subaltern Communities of the Indian sub-continent

Categories: ,

The Protestant missionaries were the pioneers of wholistic mission in India. Their practice combined evangelism and social concern. This historical understanding is important because at present wholistic mission has been spoken as a new phenomenon as if it has nothing to do with the Christian past. As a result currently mission history has been considered as a negative backdrop rather than a positive example. This book offers a needed corrective to a missiological thinking that has a tendency to discard mission history.
